Sometimes AI surprises me.

I’ve had a lot of failures when asking ChatGPT to help me express myself and my works. The more I ask questions, the more AI seems to stuff things up.

But sometimes it creates something amazing on first go.

Here are three examples:

  1. Temple of Dagon symbol for my ‘Cult of Kragn’ novel. This symbol represents the balance of order, chaos and life. (Novel due early 2026.)
  2. Draft cover for my ‘Remember My Name’ novel. Not that I’m using this, but it gave me a good idea of tone and colours. (Novel due October 2025.)
  3. New cartouche for me!

Learnings:

  • Be specific.
  • Know what you want.
  • Don’t accept what AI gives you. Challenge it.
  • If every version gets worse, ditch the stream and start again. AI is notorious for going down a rabbit hole and adding errors to errors.
